North Carolina has provided more than $3.7 billion in incentives over the last three years to lure businesses to the state.

According to a draft report by the N.C. General Assembly’s fiscal research division, North Carolina will spend $1.2 billion on incentives this fiscal year, which ends in June.

That’s down from the nearly $1.3 billion spent in fiscal 2006-07 and the $1.25 billion spent in fiscal 2005-06.
